Breathe and Be Well

We will explore breath-focused yoga practices for on- and off-the-mat use to improve both physical and emotional balance, to develop structural support for longer seated meditation and pranayama practices, and to improve endurance for the other physical activities you pursue.  

All asana classes at Beloved Yoga include breath cues along with alignment and movement cues. This class will offer many of the same shapes and movements; however, the primary focus is to maintain and develop an effective breathing pattern, perhaps even at the expense of practicing for improved muscular strength, and/or flexibility. These sessions are not intended to replace the other asana classes, but are another tool offered by Beloved for the health of your complete being.   

Whether you are just beginning your yoga journey or a long-time practitioner, these sessions offer ways for you “to make the most effective use of the air you breathe in and the prana (energy) you absorb.” (Yoga and Science in Pain Care, p. 142)
