Better Breathing – Better Being
Our breath is one of the most accessible and useful tools to improve well-being. Whether you are just beginning your yoga journey or a long-time practitioner, this class offers ways for you to integrate appropriate breathing habits into your daily life.
Each week, we will explore one or two breath-focused practices on and off the mat to improve physical endurance, boost energy, reduce stress and anxiety, sleep better, and enhance your meditation practice. You can incorporate these practices into daily life “to make the most effective use of the air you breathe in and the prana (energy) you absorb.”
Each class will include some combination of the following:
~ practices to strengthen the breathing muscles,
~ breath with movement using basic asana shapes
~ off-the-mat practices for interweaving with your daily doings;
~ specific pranayama practices
Asana experience is helpful but not necessary.
