Better Breathing – Better Being
Our breath is one of the most accessible and useful tools to improve your well-being. Whether you are just beginning your yoga journey or a long-time practitioner, this class offers ways for you to integrate appropriate breathing habits into your daily (and nighttime!) life.
Each week, we will explore one or two breath-focused practices for on and off the mat to improve physical endurance, boost energy, reduce stress and anxiety, sleep better, and enhance your meditation practice. In short, these are practices that you can incorporate into daily life “to make the most effective use of the air you breathe in and the prana (energy) you absorb.” (Yoga and Science in Pain Care; pg 142)
Each class will include some combination of basic asana, restorative poses, and/or off-the-mat movement. A hand-out accompanies each class covering what has been covered in that class.
