Spring Qi Gong with Yong In
In this seasonal Qi Gong (Qi- life energy, Gong- cultivation) series, we will work with the gentle movements of the Zhang Fu Gong (organ cleansing & strengthening) form. It is based on Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and the Taoist philosophy of the Five Elements ~ Fire, Earth, Metal, Water and Wood, where each one is associated with an organ, emotion, virtue, movement and color. We work in the "wei qi" field, our "guardian qi" or layer of energy immediately surrounding the body using intention, visualization, movement, sound and breath to release toxins, blockages and stagnations from the organ meridians and qi field, while drawing in supportive, revitalizing energies, strengthening and boosting the immune system.
Spring is a time of new energy, new life and new dreams blossoming as we move out of the colder "yin" months of winter and the warmer "yang" energy starts expanding and growing. Spring is associated with the wood element in TCM and is connected to the liver and gallbladder organs and meridians. We will explore Qi Gong movements and organ massage using our voices and the vibrations from the Himalayan singing bowl corresponding with the liver vibrational frequency to align with this season of growth.
During this Spring Qi Gong series, we will practice:
~ Breathing exercises to invite the release of physical, emotional, and mental tensions.
~ Sound vibrations and movements to release any Qi blockages.
~ Flowing movements to balance excess and deficient Qi.
~ Gentle tapping and self-massage to nourish the organs.
~ Meditation with a Himalayan singing bowl tuned to the corresponding vibrational frequency of the yin organ.
All levels are welcome. All movements can be practiced seated.
