Gina Kane, MSOT, CYT, is happy to be a part of Beloved Yoga’s team, following a 32-year career as a pediatric occupational therapist, specializing in sensory processing. She was owner and clinical director of Skill Builders, a pediatric OT private practice in northern Virginia for the majority of that time. Gina received her Master of Science degree in Occupational Therapy from Virginia Commonwealth University and her Bachelor of Science degree was completed in Psychology from James Madison University.
Her love for yoga began in 1995, with numerous teacher trainings to follow, including Yoga for the Special Child, Integral Yoga Levels I and II, Calming Kids teacher training, and certification as a Structural Yoga Therapist in 2006. Gina continues to serve as a Calming Kids board member and she and Dee Marie, the Calming Kids director, co-created a pocket-sized book, Finding Calm in a Moment, in 2016, to entice middle schoolers through adults to find ways to enjoy calm in their day. Her passion for yoga includes a strong belief in the importance of movement, breathing and meditation practices, as all children and adults deserve to know that they can find contentment and peace by going within.
