Stevie McKulsky

Stevie believes yoga is found infinitely beyond movement on the mat as the choice to live consciously, with heightened awareness and the courage to be our most authentic self. This philosophy is fostered as one moves rhythmically beyond asana, ultimately making way for each moment in life to harmonize with the world around us. Once we tune into the ample energy of the flow, we find this current exists everywhere and in every moment, allowing our body, mind and soul to hum with the universe.

As a yoga instructor (e-RYT200, Yoga Alliance), Stevie’s training derives from the lineage of Sri T. Krishnamacharya (teacher of Sri K. Pattabhi Jois, B.K.S. Iyengar and T.K.V. Desikachar). Stevie is currently pursuing her 500-hour certification under the instruction of Prana Vinyasa founder Shiva Rea. She has been leading yoga as movement alchemy since 2011.

Stevie practices to be in service to herself, and teaches to be in service to the community at large. The physical and the philosophical are powerfully connected in her personal practice, a whole-istic approach she extends through her teaching. Stevie's teaching is informed by her studies of Prana Vinyasa under the guidance of Shiva Rea, and her own devoted daily sadhana. She leads a flow that is an energetic, creative, full-spectrum approach to vinyasa yoga. The intent is to facilitate an experience whereby the practitioner feels a mental and physical embodiment of flow, pulsating with continual rhythm and reverberation. Through the practice, students are allowed a safe space where they are encouraged to be in service of themselves. Stevie invites her students to listen within so they may leave empowered, with a more profound sense of awareness. Thoughtful of the significance of traditional yogic philosophy, Stevie offers a connection to the roots of the practice while guiding her students to find relevance in their lives. The cadence of an exquisitely rhythmic flow on the mat underscores breath, movements, and postures. Stevie believes yoga is not just progress on the mat; it is conscious action. The refinement of asana practice allows us to cultivate ease in the midst of difficulty. As we find ease, everything we say and do can become our practice.

Stevie is a lover a life and a giver of good vibes. In addition to her work as a yoga practitioner, she has also been honored to serve as a doula (labor support person) for local families since 2015. When Stevie isn't in service to others, she may be on an adventure, but is never gone for too long as you're most likely to find her curled up with some good tunes and her soulmate pet companion.
