This class is meant for those who have recently welcomed a tiny human into their lives. This class offers an opportunity to step away from the repetitions associated with new parenthood/guardianship to offer an hour of intention both for self-care and for connection to self and baby. Specific movements will be offered to help a birthing person strengthen and reconnect, with a focus on core and pelvic health and mindfulness practices to support the journey as parent/caregiver. We will provide bonding practices of baby massage and incorporate baby or babies into the mat practice. The space will be welcoming and parents can feed, change and be with baby as needed. We welcome caregivers, parents and grandparents to attend with baby/babies.

Bess O'Keeffe

Bess O’Keeffe’s first encounter with yoga was coming across lion pose in a yoga book on her mom’s bookshelf as a child and thinking yoga must be very strange. She learned it wasn’t just about funny faces when she took a class to accompany her dance training in high school. Her love for it was born in 2014 when she started taking classes regularly. She discovered that while it made her body feel good, she was surprised by the mental and emotional effects and it was the practice of yoga that gave her the peace and direction to follow some of her other career pursuits. Bess did her 200hr yoga teacher training in 2015 and started teaching in the same year. She completed her prenatal yoga teacher training through Beloved in 2019.

Bess is married to a redhead, and they have two “ginglets” (redheaded boys) together.

Amélie Gislot

Amélie is a French mom who moved to the USA in 2018. After a decade of trying to conceive with the assistance of hormonal treatments, she decided to attend a yoga retreat. Upon returning home her body re-established its natural rhythms and a month later, she was pregnant. Since that transformative experience, she has continued practicing yoga through pregnancies, postpartum challenges, and even postpartum depression. Yoga has been her constant companion, whether practiced alone or with her children, whenever she can find a moment amid the whirlwind of motherhood. Her goal is to help others find balance and strength in their lives through the power of yoga.

As a certified yoga instructor and fitness professional, she is deeply committed to promoting the mind-body connection and supporting others on their personal journeys. She holds certifications in 200-hour yoga teacher training, 85-hour prenatal yoga teacher training, and a 20-hour postpartum yoga teacher training.
