$225.00 Foundations of Ayurveda and Marma Therapy
3-day training for $225
This class is a journey to understanding true health, through the lens of Ayurveda by exploring the foundational principles that make it a powerful healing science.
We will explore how Ayurveda explores and opens up the pathway to understanding our true nature, our place in nature, and ultimately, realizing our Higher Self (Divine). It is a journey through history that brings us to today, and how this ancient science is still so relevant to how we live life in the 21st century.
In this class, you will learn that Ayurveda has a comprehensive knowledge of nutritional health, lifestyle guidelines, and dietary principles which affect healing at physical, mental and spiritual levels, and for different types of people. You will come away with an understanding of how you can support your own healing and growth with Ayurveda’s multi-layered approach to creating total health (“svastha” in sanskrit).
On Sunday, Ileana will share the basic principles of “Marma chikitsa”. Marma is considered “doorways” or “entry points” into our body’s inner pathways – energy channels that allow Prana to flow through the spine, thereby nourishing the body and mind. When activated through gentle touch, the flow of Prana that travels from these points through the body can have a profound healing effect. Marma therapy can offer an intuitive layer to spiritual practice, allowing the practitioner to connect on a deeper level through gentle, light touch. Touching a marma point changes the body’s biochemistry and has the potential to unfold healing on the subtlest levels of the body and mind.
This weekend is open to everyone. The class presents a unique learning opportunity for yoga teachers, yoga therapists, yoga teacher trainees, health coaches, or anyone considering a broader, more committed study in Ayurveda.
