LeShanta Baker
LeShanta is driven by one overarching theory, the maternal journey mimics the pathway to personal growth.
In 2007, LeShanta began her professional journey as a birth worker after graduating from Florida A&M University with her Bachelor of Science in nursing. Over a 13-year span, the Florida native was blessed to travel, train, and serve in over a dozen maternity units across the country. LeShanta had opportunities to support and learn from hundreds of women in various prenatal centers, clinics, hospitals, and a free-standing birth center.
She almost turned away from her passion, one year into her nursing career when three doctors deemed it impossible for her and her husband to conceive. Supporting others through childbirth triggered too much as she battled infertility. However, in 2010 she celebrated the birth of a new view on the maternal journey and her “miracle” son.
In 2015, LeShanta decided to expand her knowledge and skills through Prepared Childbirth Educators, Inc. She became certified as a Childbirth Educator, Labor Doula, and Infant Massage Instructor. In 2016 she began teaching Dancing for Birth ™ classes as a certified instructor while integrating all new wisdom into her nursing and private practice.
LeShanta believes that we all can labor through the contractions of life with more peaceful minds, if we seek to understand the concepts and utilize the practices that facilitate the reproductive and labor process. She strives daily to practice the art of birthing her “Peaceful-Power” and her mission is to help others do the same.
