Calling all teens, ages 12-17, ready to experience inner strength, calm, confidence and compassion. Join us for this four-week series that offers:
- self-esteem and confidence

- gratitude for yourself and for all those around you
Yoga helps us de-stress, move, breathe, and rest. Yoga gives us a toolkit for soothing our tight muscles, improving our flexibility and coordination, and counteracting the negative challenges of screen time, school and peer pressures. Take this opportunity to acknowledge your resilience and recharge for the week ahead.

This is an in-person, 6-week session.
Born and raised in the foothills of the Himalayas, Varnita discovered yoga in middle school and was fascinated by the peace and calm it brought her through her teenage years. Varnita has always had a passion for the arts and enjoyed learning Indian classical vocal music and acting in theater. After her undergraduate studies in English literature, she joined NDTV, India’s leading TV company where she anchored the weather report and produced the arts and culture segment of a daily breakfast show, Good Morning India. Later in life, after she moved to the United States in 1997, she found deeper meaning in the practice of yoga and how effortlessly it helped in the transition to a new culture. Having finished her post-graduate studies in Culture Communication and Technology from Georgetown University, Varnita yearned to bring about a common thread to carry through her Indian roots and heritage and share them in the west. She joined a non-profit to support artisans throughout the world to bring their wares to the US market. She continues to support disadvantaged Indian village women through the sales of "hand-made" to bring awareness and preservation of hand-crafted arts.
Throughout college and work, yoga kept her grounded and centered in the midst of a very active lifestyle. She particularly enjoyed the practice of breath and movement through each of her pregnancies, delivery and bouncing back into shape and feeling cheerful through postpartum. Having had the opportunity to experience both cultures in the course of 3 moves to India and back in the past two decades, Varnita was fortunate to train with leading Vinyasa yoga teachers in the U.S. and Hatha yoga gurus in New Delhi.
This sparked the curiosity to delve deeper into yogic tradition and theory and she embarked on the 200 RYT training course with Beloved Yoga. As a mother of 2 teenagers and an elementary schooler, she noticed her kids' willingness to take on challenging asanas and she was amazed at their flexibility and the wonders of being able to breathe deeply and relax. Moreover, the excitement to practice together was unparalleled in their support for their mom. This led Varnita to launch a kids yoga series in her backyard during the pandemic which brought about instant gratification to her when she saw kids giggling hopping like a frog, being able to focus during tree pose and truly relax (and sometimes even fall asleep) in savasana! Varnita finds it truly rewarding to serve her neighborhood community where she teaches in the park, gathering friends and practicing together with the intention to help themselves, de-stress, explore creativity and stay rooted in a healthy environment. Thrilled to be part of the Beloved community, she is excited to blend her love of yoga, ayurveda in service to kids, youth and adults.
