This Yin & Sound was designed to soothe, restore, and reset the nervous system. Think of it as a healing antidote to the stress of modern life. Yin Yoga is a slow, contemplative practice that targets the deeper layers of the body, specifically the connective tissue. Poses are often on or close to the ground and are held for longer periods of time, which allow our deep patterns to both reveal and then release themselves. We integrate breathing practices, singing bowls, healing chimes, and awareness of prana (vital energy) into these classes.

Natalie Serrano

Natalie is a certified yoga teacher, meditation teacher, and sound practitioner. Originally from Boston, she received her Yoga teacher certification with Radiant Yoga, where restorative justice, body liberation, and an inclusive environment are emphasized. She has been practicing yoga for many years and holds over 500 hours of combined meditation teacher training, yoga teacher training, and Tibetan Buddhist studies.

When a finance job led her to Manhattan in 2014, yoga became her sanctuary away from the daily grind and burnout she was experiencing. She also came into the healing power of meditation and deep study in Buddhist philosophy and subsequently became a 200-hour accredited meditation teacher through the Three Jewels Enlightenment Studio in New York. Her aim as a teacher is to serve individuals of all backgrounds and help them embrace mindfulness, self-care, and living authentically. She has learned that yoga encompasses far more than achieving physically challenging poses, and her goal is to teach others how to practice yoga both on and off the mat.

Apart from teaching, she is a musician, artist, avid fiction reader, and proud dog mom to Dante, her Australian shepherd.

She is excited to share the tools that yoga offers through her accessible and spiritually-oriented yoga classes. When participating in Lorena's class, you can expect a full intention, a meditative flow that can be done by everyone. She is open to all possibilities and is always willing to customize the session to the needs of the participants while cultivating their strength, equanimity, compassion, joy, and awareness of the body, mind, and soul. Her classes include breath, a mixture of flow and stillness, soothing music, and a fully guided final relaxation, with sound bath meditation and mantra music.

Lorena loves to connect with nature and enjoys exploring possibilities with the use of the imagination in a creative and intuitive manner. She loves people of all ages and welcomes every opportunity to build a better world through Yoga.

She currently guides online sessions at Yoga District and is part of Beloved Yoga’s
