Let’s Find Balance!

Balancing school, after-school activities, friendships, family time, social media,
and “all the things” can be extremely stressful. In this 4-week session designing just for teens, we’ll
discover how the powerful tools of yoga and mindfulness can help us to find
balance and allow us to be more present, peaceful, and content in our daily lives.
For teens aged 12 to high school seniors. No prior yoga experience is necessary.

Nancy McGovern

Nancy McGovern - RYT500, C-IAYT
Nancy initially found yoga at her gym while looking for a form of exercise. Her background in dance made many of the yoga shapes feel familiar. As her practice became more consistent, she noticed both physical and mental benefits and was “sold!” In 2017, Nancy completed her 200HR teacher training. She began teaching yoga to teens and adults and added yoga to her preschool movement classes. After stumbling upon a free mindfulness certification and learning about its many benefits, she also began adding
mindfulness practices to all her classes.

When COVID shut the world down and she could not teach, Nancy decided to immerse herself in the study of yoga. In the Fall of 2022, she completed a 2-year Master of Science program in Yoga Therapy and is so excited to share all that yoga and yoga therapy have to offer!

Nancy’s special interests and areas of additional study include teen yoga, trauma-informed practices, mental health, stress, anxiety, nervous system education, postural education, breath work, mindfulness, laughter, and the benefits of play. She loves working and connecting with children of all ages (yep, adults that’s you too!) Nancy can’t wait to meet you on the mat!
