Winter QiGong
Continuing our seasonal Qi Gong (Qi-energy/prana, gong-practice/cultivate) series, we will deepen our work with Qi and focus on gentle movements and massage for the organ systems, also known as “acupuncture without the needles.”
Winter is nature’s season of resting and the most “yin” time of the year. We are invited to slow down and replenish ourselves by resting and spending more time in self-reflection. Winter is associated with the Water Element in traditional Chinese medicine, and is connected to the organs and meridians of the kidneys and the bladder. We will explore qi gong movements and organ massage using our voices and the vibrations from the Himalayan singing bowls corresponding with the kidney vibrational frequency to align with this season of rest.
During this 4-week series, we will practice:
~ Breathing exercises to invite the release of physical, emotional, and mental tensions.
~ Sound vibrations and movements to release any Qi blockages.
~ Flowing movements to balance excess and deficient Qi.
~ Gentle self-massage to nourish the organs.
~ Meditation with Himalayan singing bowls tuned to the corresponding vibrational frequency of the kidneys.
All levels are welcome. All movements can be practiced seated.
