Allison has been on the yoga path for more than 20 years and feels she has only begun to scratch the surface of its depth and wisdom. She approaches the practice with humility, reverence, and playful curiosity, and brings those same qualities to her classes. She teaches Yin Yoga and Yoga Nidra as well as private classes, and is part of the management team at Beloved. She is currently enrolled in the Svastha Yoga & Ayurveda 800-hour Yoga Therapy Certification Program.
In addition to her yoga studies, Allison holds a PhD in Applied Linguistics in Spanish from Georgetown University and has since taught at George Washington University. During the pandemic, she felt called to leave academia and found her own company dedicated to promoting workplace well-being through the wisdom, science, and art of Yoga and Ayurveda. While she no longer teaches languages or conducts linguistic research, she remains deeply interested in the ways language can foster human connection, self-awareness, and meaningful reflection.
For Allison, journaling is a form of svadhyaya, the yogic practice of self-study. She is grateful for a space like Beloved and for the opportunity to nurture both inward reflection and a shared sense of belonging.
